IMDD : Season 1, Episode 5: The Rebirth

Adaptations form a leading source of inspiration for major screenplays-in history and currently. People adapt them for various reasons- it may be because of their obsession or may be because of its sheer brilliance, it may even be because of its commercial value alone. Adapted screenplays form an important platform for those movies, novels, books, characters, real life stories, incidents which do not get much of public attention during the time they actually happen but those tales are meant to be told to the audience, to us. As people deserve to know what they are supposed to know and what they are not supposed to know.

Many viewers criticize the whole concept of adaptations, they think they are not creative enough to suit and do justice with the original. They are so emotionally bound to the original piece they just shut off themselves from revisiting the same experience through a different source. But what they seem to forget is that how many times it had happened when we liked an adaptation only then we have visited the original. They forget one thing that its not always a one way route, sometimes people get to know the original when they see an adaptation for the same, it might have to do with the whole generation concept.

The writers who adapts any such pre-existing material should always remember one thing in their minds- they need to come up to a certain expectation of the people who have faith in the original, whatever might be the truth, whatever might be the hidden story because sometimes the truth isn't good enough, sometimes people deserve more. Sometimes people deserve to have their faith rewarded. They deserve to see a rebirth of their faith, they deserve to relive the whole experience in those 3 hours alone.

IMDD : Season 1, Episode 4: The Changeover

You'r sitting in a theater, munching your popcorn, sipping your soda, talking to your love on your phone, throwing away abuses as to how much the movie sucks and how much you really want to get out of there and at just that moment-you hear a slight disturbance, you hear people talking, its spreading like a wave, some chick is screaming and you are sitting there-like a fucking moron. You return your seat backs to the full upright position, you hang up the phone trying to figure out whats the matter. You ask the person next to you- he/she gives you a chuckle, and says- " You just missed the changeover, this one is THE best so far" and there you sit there wondering, because you'r a big fan of changeover, you like to be surprised, you see all the flashes on the screen, explaining everything and you sit there like an idiot, cursing yourself instead. So now you want to get out as you don't want someone to ruin the surprise for you, so in the end you end up where you started- at the beginning-ground zero.

Now let me explain to you folks as to what exactly is a changeover. It is a few seconds span where the movie goes on and nobody in the audience has any idea, they start to put pieces together like a jigsaw puzzle and when they get it, they are like-"Oh! my God". They are so goddamn surprised that its like in a flight you hear the words-" We have just lost cabin pressure". And that my friend is what we call a changeover which leads to the outcome-the twist, after you put those pieces back. So, the changeover gives birth to a baby twist. The stronger the changeover-the healthier is the twist.

Well we all love movies with "smart twists" in the end because technically when it comes to movies we all like to be fooled, its human nature, we need to keep ourselves updated about our own idiocracy. Thats one place where one doesn't feel cheated when fooled, they laugh about it.

So, smarter the changeover, smarter the twist- the harder the bitch-slap of idiocracy - the happier we are- bravo!

IMDD : Season 1, Episode 3: The Difference

Bollywood versus Hollywood, oh yeah! now who doesn't wanna talk about it. I know you do, I know I do, infact we all want to. Some of us share our indifferences and opinions on the same because we are nothing but a product of our environment. Lets categories this- firstly: there are those who have been on both sides and secondly: there are those who have been on either side.

Well, I consider myself as the one who have had tastes from both the "..woods". And I can blindly, just blindly without a twitch can say yes- in terms of quantity of quality cinema- Hollywood is far ahead of Bollywood. Though one may argue about what do I mean by this quality difference: well let me put it this way- quality differs with the audience. The so called "taste" of cinema of the audience here differs from the audience world-wide. The standards for audiences there are well set in Hollywood as they are here. But these standards need to be updated. For example: we need to redefine the action and sci-fi genre according to our taste. We should march towards our exploration towards completeness.Cinema is not about making the same thing over and over and later claiming this to be a little different. Well come on: give me an action movie, give me an action movie from Bollywood which would come as close to the standards of Die Hard. Die Hard brought a revolution in action genre in Hollywood, we need the same kind of revolution here. We, here are not too familiar with actions, sci-fi, fantasy, bio-epics. Actions were an integral part of Indian cinema from 70s-90s but they are extinct right now. We have lost our- angry young man, we don't have our explosions, flying cars, near death saves, yada yada yada. Our buildings don't get blown up while America my friend gets fucked and fucked, over and over and over in every action movie. I understand our obsession with cute romance rather than R rated romance, due to the whole cultural thing but this doesn't stop us from exploring other genres. But when it comes to making action and sci-fi movies one needs money and that money needs to show in quality. The quality and quantity of money spent is easily reflected in Hollywood movies but we got the quantity which doesn't reflect in quality (example: Blue 100cr.), whereas a low budget movie recovers its cost easily. So the latest trend started here is that- the production studios like UTV- spotlight have produced some excellent low budget movies and recovered even double-triple the cost and here the main emphasis is on quality of cinema. But the time has come to play big, gamble, experiment, give us one movie, just one movie for now to blow away our mind- we don't need to cry, we don't need to laugh, we don't need to scare-what we want is to appreciate what needs to be appreciated, and say this one was worth the wait.

We can't define the "completeness" when it comes to movies but we can define our potential to explore the completeness and my friend- while others have shown potential to explore- we still need to.

Let me wrap up by answering a simple question: In a time frame- How far is Bollywood behind Hollywood? and I say- 21 years and still counting- as Die Hard was released in 1988 and we still need to make one, leave behind The Matrix- it will have to wait even longer. I will wait for this magic, i'll wait for my revolution, we will wait for our revolution.

IMDD : Season 1, Episode 2: The Vibe

People ask a question -which is your favorite movie? n I tell 'em - i don know, do you want me to have a favorite one? do you want me to have your stereotypical influence on me to define my favorite movie- oh no- theres always more to it my friend- for some its about scripts, direction, sexy stars fucking-for some its about glamor, nudity-we all like a bit of everything mixed like a great sensuous cocktail of everything, ain't it . But what people seem to skip is that its never about 'em. Its always about the vibe, the fucking vibe my friend which you get while watching a cinematic piece. If that vibe tells you that it was an honor to watch that piece, you say its good but when that vibe gets fucked up so does the movie for you, of course. And the moment you get that vibe of positivity- you get your masterpiece you had been looking for, you get your FAVORITE. It generally happens that people don't like a particular movie for the first time, but you show them again-they shit their pants and cry out loud-"This is definitely my favorite movie of all time" (happens with movies like- The Sixth Sense, Mulholland dr.) . It happened with me when I watched Fight Club. It stunk during my first watch because I thought I had seen movies on similar concepts before, this shit is boring,- I was surrounded by the captivity of negativity concept -that kinda vibe. After a couple of years I watched it again- and there I was - my masterpiece,my fucking masterpiece. But this is only momentarily, it exists till that vibe exists. Once you get to see another masterpiece, that particular vibe takes over and there you are screaming again-"This one is definitely my favorite movie of all time, fuck Fight Club-this was some interesting shit".

Actually it never mattered whether- The Dark Knight was my favorite or 300 -what mattered was that I felt honored when I came out. I felt like saying to the people who were outside- this is it, this is what you had been waiting for-this is THE ultimate thing that could happen in cinema. Come inside, feel it- feel the aura inside, keep yourself high, forget about sex, forget about orgasms- accept the vibe, appreciate what needs to be appreciated and accept it until you find another one of your masterpiece.

IMDD : Season 1, Episode 1: The pilot

Though I am not a big fan of writing or reading per say as I am more of a "visual admirer" kinda person. I like words to be spoken into my ears rather than I taking pains in reading or writing as for the matter. But as the usual trends go these days- when you get bored you start blogging so yeah am bored hence the blogging.

This blog will basically contain viewpoints and discussions on- movies, TV series and some of day to day activities and observations with a slight sarcastic tinge and yeah , chicks -the cornerstone of any healthy conversation. I am not gonna give a fuck about language as these days maturity with languages hits early than puberty. Though I will try my hard to be real nice and acting all gentle but that will be just trying, no promising.

As far as the title of the post goes, its simply a homage to all my friends and even my will which had been hanging inside me since a long time.

So, guys in my adieu "LET THE GAMES BEGIN" : though i mean the blogging.
